Cosmetic Dentistry in Lincoln CA
An unstoppable smile awaits.
What's keeping you from showing off your smile? Cosmetic dentistry can help you achieve a smile you're proud to display, whether through whitening, straightening, or even reshaping your smile.
You deserve to let your smile shine bright.
Here's how Dr. Jon DDS can help you with cosmetic dentistry services in Lincoln, CA.
What is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry simply means dental work that helps you achieve a more aesthetically pleasing smile. Cosmetic dentistry services differ from general or restorative dentistry services. General dentistry focuses on preventative care such as teeth cleaning, and restorative dentistry focuses on repairing or replacing damaged teeth. Cosmetic dentistry is the art of crafting a beautiful smile—one that you're proud to show off in photos and in person.
Cosmetic dentistry services often include:
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening can help restore brightness and whiteness to your smile. Over time, your smile can lose its luster and become stained or dingy from food and beverage consumption. Professional teeth whitening services (performed in-office or via an at-home kit) can help restore your youthful, bright smile and your confidence.
Zoom whitening is a popular in-office tooth whitening service provided at our Lincoln, CA cosmetic dentistry office, but that's not all we offer. You may prefer professional tooth whitening for sensitive teeth or even take-home trays so you can whiten at home.

Clear Aligners
Do you want to straighten your teeth but cringe at the thought of traditional braces? Many adults want the smile-straightening benefits of braces without looking like they're returning to their teen years. Clear aligners or “invisible braces” could be the answer. Clear aligners are transparent teeth aligners that work similarly to braces but more discreetly. The transparent devices are removable, and you can take them out when eating and brushing your teeth. They gradually work to align your teeth, correcting misalignments, overbites, underbites, crossbites, open bites, gaps, and crowded teeth.
How do clear aligners work?
If you decide that clear aligners are the solution for a straighter smile, you'll be sent home with transparent trays to wear 22-24 hours a day. You'll wear a tray for a week or two, during which it will move your teeth a few millimeters. Then you'll swap that tray for the next tray, then the next. It usually takes 6 - 12 months for patients to achieve their desired results when they consistently wear their trays.
Will you need braces after clear aligners?
After you've completed treatment with clear aligners, a retainer can help you maintain your beautiful smile results. Retainers are an important part of any teeth-straightening process, whether you choose traditional wire-and-bracket braces or invisible braces.

Dental Veneers
Dental veneers can help radically change your smile by improving the shape, size, and color of your teeth. At Dr. Jon, DDS., we use porcelain veneers to give our patients a brand new smile. Not only can veneers improve the appearance of your teeth, but they can also provide non-cosmetic benefits, such as preventing enamel erosion.
Veneers are porcelain shells that fit over the top of your existing teeth. A small amount of enamel is shaved off your natural tooth, and then the veneer is bonded in place. A veneer can improve the appearance of a single tooth or multiple veneers can be used to improve the appearance of an entire row of teeth.
How long do veneers last?
Your veneers can be a long-lasting solution to your cosmetic dentistry desires. Porcelain veneers can last from 7 - 15 years, and even longer if they are well cared for. Veneers are not a permanent dental solution, however, and eventually will be replaced once they've reached the end of their lifespan. Many of our patients love the longevity that veneers provide.
Are veneers painful?
The good news is that having veneers applied is not a painful process. The procedure is minimally invasive and the only potential for discomfort is having that small sliver of enamel removed from your natural teeth before the veneers are attached. Most patients report very little to no discomfort throughout the process.
Can you drink coffee, eat apples, or chew gum with veneers?
You can resume your normal eating, drinking, and chewing habits once you go home with your new veneers in place. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and durable, so you can drink coffee and red wine without fear of ruining your teeth. You can also eat apples and corn on the cob and chew gum without worrying about damaging your new veneers. As long as you take good care of your teeth by regularly brushing, flossing, and showing up for your bi-annual dental cleanings, your veneers will look, perform, and feel great for years to come.

Is a Cosmetic Dentist the Same as a Regular Dentist?
Cosmetic dentistry and general dentistry are different practices that require different skills and knowledge. A general dentist will take care of regular dental needs, such as preventive and restorative services and overall oral health concerns. A cosmetic dentist has the same general dentistry knowledge and skills but also specializes in improving the appearance of their patients' smiles.
Dr. Jon is a cosmetic dentistry specialist with a focus on emerging technologies to provide the best results possible for his patients. Using the latest technological advancements, Dr. Jon can help you realize the smile of your dreams through teeth whitening, veneers, clear aligners, computer-assisted design, laser dentistry, and more.

Is Cosmetic Dentistry Covered by Insurance?
Most dental insurance plans will cover preventative and diagnostic services, orthodontics, oral surgery, and other corrective or restorative dental procedures. Cosmetic dentistry procedures that are elective and not medically necessary may not be covered by insurance. You'll want to check with your dental insurance provider to better understand what your insurance plan covers (and what it won't), and to better understand your policy deductible amounts.
Is financing available for cosmetic dentistry?
Dr. Jon, DDS offers financing for cosmetic dentistry services in our Lincoln, CA dental office. Our convenient and easy-to-understand financing options can help you get your cosmetic dentistry services provided without worrying about whether or not your insurance will cover the costs.
